KFC History.

Kentucky Fried Chicken ® was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders (born on September 9, 1890) at the age of sixty-five. KFC ® is one of the largest business of global food service industry and is widely known around the world as the face of Colonel Sanders.
Each year, more than a billion chicken dinners are served featuring KFC ® Colonel's "finger lickin 'good" special recipe. Currently Colonel industry has spread to more than eighty countries and territories worldwide.

The story of Colonel Sanders.

At 6 years old, his father died. His mother was not able to work again, and young Harland had to keep his younger brother who was only 3 years. With this condition he had to cook for her family. At age 7 she was a good cook cook at several places. At age 10 he got his first job with a salary farm near $ 2 a month. When he was 12 years old his mother remarried and he died at home near Henryville, Ind.. Harland change jobs for several years, first as a parking at the age of 15 years in New Albany, Ind.., And then as at the age of 16 years in the army sent for 6 months in Cuba. After that he became a fireman, studied law by correspondence, practiced in the courts, insurance, ferry operators, tire salesman and service station operators.

At the age of forty, Colonel Sanders started cooking for tourists in the shop who is located in Corbin, KY. In 1939, Colonel Sanders 'won the top restaurants in Duncan Hines' "Adventures in Good Eating."

After a remarkable start-ups in 1952, the Colonel devoted himself for the rest of his life to the chicken franchising business. However, in January 1997, PepsiCo, Inc. revealed that it would make KFC ® and other small quick-service restaurants - Taco Bell and Pizza Hut - into an independent restaurant company known as Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc. The company also stated that it would change the name corporation Yum! Brands, Inc. in May of 2002. The company, which currently owns A & W All-American Food Restaurants, KFC, Long John Silvers, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants, is the world's premier restaurant company in terms of system units, has a stifling 32,500 units in more than one hundred countries and regions .

Unfortunately, having traveled 250 thousand miles a year visiting restaurants around the world, Colonel Sanders died of leukemia on December 16, 1980 at the age of ninety years.

Interestingly enough, a very large global companies, all started with just a man aged sixty-five years and a chicken.

The Secret Recipe
For years, Colonel Harland Sanders brought the secret formula for Kentucky Fried Chicken in his head and the spice mixture in his car. Today, the recipe is locked away in a safe in Louisville, Kentucky. Only a handful of people who know, and each is obligated to strict confidentiality by contract.

Colonel developed the formula back in the 1930's when he operates the Sanders Court & Cafe restaurant and motel in Corbin, Kentucky. There, blend of 11 herbs and spices are first developed a loyal customer.

"In those days, I mix by hand spices like mixing cement on a specially cleaned concrete floor who on the back porch in Corbin," recalls Colonel. "I use a spoon to make a tunnel in the flour and then carefully mixed with the herbs and spices."

Evolution of KFC logo

In April 2007, KFC unveiled their logo today in which the Colonel took off the white coat for a red cook's apron. The new logo includes bolder colors and better defined the face of the late founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, which will keep the bow tie, classic black, glasses and beard. The logo changed only for the fourth time in 50 years, and for the first time in nearly a decade. A smiling Colonel is featured against a red background that matches his red apron, with the KFC brand name in bold black letters under the chin.

The company also began using its original name Kentucky Fried Chicken again for packaging, signage, and advertising in the United States as part of a corporate re-branding program; restaurant newer and renovated will have a new logo and name while the stores are older will continue to use of signage in 1991. In addition, the company continues to use the abbreviation KFC freely in the ad. International company was still known as KFC.

In 2006, KFC claims to have made the first logo visible from outer space, though Readymix has had one since 1965. KFC says "It marks the official debut of a massive global re-image campaign that will kontemporasi + 14 000 KFC restaurants in over 80 countries over the next few years." Logo is constructed from 65,000 square foot single-sized box, and it took six days on site to building in early November. The logo measured a record-breaking 87,500 square feet (8,129.0 m²), and placed in the Mojave Desert near Rachel, Nevada.
