Colette Besson (born in Royan, 7 April 1946 - died in La Rochelle, France, August 9, 2005 at age 59 years) is a female athlete from France, who made ​​a surprise by winning the 400m run at the Olympics in 1968.
Before the 1968 Olympics, Besson practically unknown in the world of international athletics, and qualifications of its own past success was a surprise. The following year, Besson twice won second place in the European championships, each in 400m and 4x400m.
After that, Besson never again won medals in international championships. He qualified for the Olympic Games of Munich 1972, but left out in the early rounds.
He died of cancer at the age of 59 years.
